he knew her like long Fridays
wide freckled face & small square eyes
a sandy girl, dirty somehow

seaweed near rollover
beetles silver in the moon.
she lisps,”Do you love me?”

I like the ambiguity of the first stanza, but I am unsure of what the first line of the second stanza is supposed to mean. Near where ‘they’ roll over, or is the seaweed about to roll over, or where the waves are rolling over?

I thought something similar, but I was looking for a proper noun for that to be the case.
